I was born September 21, 1940 at Frontier, Saskatchewan, Canada ... of American-Canadian parentage (a mixture of English, Irish and Swiss descent).
Poet, author, humorist, historian, sportsman, horseman and naturalist ... I write from the heart, with a firm conviction that life can be lived to the fullest while maintaining a semblance of self assurance and harmony within nature. Born with a genetic anomoly known as Treacher Collins Syndrome, I refer to myself as an optimist with realistic sensibilities.
My home is a scenic acreage nestled in the Turtle Mountains near Boissevain, Manitoba, Canada ... where I live with my wife Carol and a menagerie of four legged and feathered friends.
Our 25th Wedding Anniversary
A Long Ago Memory
I went for a walk in the woods today,
with the warmth of the sun's last rays
touching my face, as I looked about
in the autumn twilight haze.
I stood and gazed at an autumn world
with its splendor so full and alive,
feeling the warmth, of kindred bliss
and you are at my side.
... autumn (1981) for Carol ... with love - Jim
Though Carol is gone now, she is not far away.
Look to the heavens and you will see her
dancing among the stars.
